Practice / Making & learning

Learning with
our hands.

Making something ourselves can open another way into a tradition.

Craft workshop

A small figure,
made by hand.

Our Beijing hairy monkey craft workshop was a free activity for students in grades 9–12, with materials and instruction supplied.

It offered space to learn by handling materials, asking questions and trying the craft.

How we work

From a question
to a story.

Our plans describe a shared process. Each project takes its own shape as the team learns and makes decisions together.

01

Research

Start with a subject and learn enough to ask thoughtful questions.

02

Script & storyboard

Shape an approach and plan what might be useful to film.

03

Filming

Work together on images, sound and conversations.

04

Editing & discussion

Review the material, share feedback and find the story.
